Hello, my name is Dr. Darren Wong. I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, where my family is 4th generation. When I’m not fixing people’s smiles, I enjoy surfing, cooking, making sushi and doing yoga.

I attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where I earned my degree in business with a major in finance. During my time at UH Manoa, I became extremely interested in investment and bond trading, and I worked for five years as an assistant bond trader at Hawaiian Trust Company and Bank of Hawaii.

After my time in the investment field, I decided to pursue a career in the medical or dental field and returned to school to complete my prerequisites. I attended the University of California, San Francisco, and graduated with my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001.

I have been working as a general family dentist for over 23 years—first as an associate, then as a private practice owner. I love the art of dentistry and the fact that I can make a difference in someone’s life by maintaining and improving their smile and overall oral health. I am committed to my ongoing development and education and understand that there is always something new to learn. I have been so lucky to have such a great support system in my wife, Dr. Amanda Wilson, an orthodontist who grew up in the East Bay of Northern California. She was my classmate at UCSF, and we graduated together in 2001. We have two lovely children: Evan (18) and Olivia (15). Both were born and raised in Hawaii and attend ‘Iolani School. Taking after their dad, both are water sports enthusiasts and love to swim, surf and hang out at the beach. Evan and Olivia are also accomplished swimmers, having earned both state and national recognition, as well as state championships. Evan recently graduated as one of the valedictorians at ‘Iolani School in June 2024 and is taking a gap year to pursue his dreams of swimming in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles while studying at MIT. Olivia is a sophomore in 10th grade and is enjoying being a teenager with a demanding swim practice and school schedule. She is super excited to get her driver’s license in March 2025.

I am so grateful for the opportunity that Dr. Holly Downes has given me. I look forward to continuing to care for both new and returning patients in Mill Valley, just as she has done for the past 40 years. I will do my very best to meet all of your dental needs for many years to come and hope to expand this practice into one brimming with the aloha spirit. Welcome to our Ohana.

Dr. Lotfi Mahyar Lotfi, DMD General Dentist Dr. Mahyar Lotfi was born in Iran and moved to the USA with his family when he was 17. Since then, he has enjoyed living in different parts of the USA throughout his education but chose to settle in California’s North Bay after graduation. He desires to help those in local communities, solve their dental problems and ensure they enjoy visiting the dentist.

In 2011, Dr. Lotfi earned his B.S. from UC San Diego with honors in biochemistry and biology. His main inspiration for becoming a dentist was to provide the type of care his family could never afford when he was growing up. He saw how dentistry can help others be healthier and enjoy life happily with a smile. In 2015, Dr. Lotfi earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University. To this day, Dr. Lotfi takes advanced continuous education courses to keep himself informed of industry changes to improve his care regarding digital dentistry, dental implants, grafting and cosmetic dentistry.

Whether it is in relieving your pain, improving your appearance, or boosting your health, Dr. Lotfi will look after you like his own family. Dr. Max Max Greenfield, DDS General Dentist Dr. Max Greenfield was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and for more than 25 years, he has had the privilege of helping people achieve healthy, beautiful smiles. He completed his undergraduate studies at Rice University, graduating with high honors in classical piano performance and biology, with a minor in Spanish linguistics. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas at Houston.

Prior to relocating to California, Dr. Greenfield owned and operated a luxury cosmetic dental spa in Uptown Houston, where he specialized in smile makeovers and advanced aesthetic procedures. His work has been featured in several magazines and media outlets, and he has led hands-on workshops in aesthetic dentistry and smile design. I have worked in the dental field for about nine years. In the past I did front office duties as a scheduling coordinator and insurance/treatment coordinator. Within my nine years of working in this field I mainly focused my skills as a dental assistant for most of the years. Now I do all of these things for this incredible office as the office operations manager. I focus on giving our patients nothing but the utmost best quality of care with five-star customer service experiences. I am from Oklahoma and outside of the office I love to spend time with my family and connect with nature. Jantsen Jantsen Dental Hygienist Jantsen is a dedicated dental hygienist with almost 20 years of clinical experience and a bachelor’s degree from Loma Linda University. In addition to her practice, she has also been a dental hygiene professor, where she enjoyed educating and mentoring future clinicians. She loves getting to know her patients and strives to make each visit both comfortable and productive.
